Why Odie?

Tada!!!   For years, our clients called us "O.D." for OneDomain and, over time, we began collecting Odie stuffed animals, figurines and stickers containing our unofficial corporate mascot. Soon after, we began joking about how cool it would be to adopt Garfield's Odie dog as our official mascot and using him in our marketing. After all, we're very much like the goofy, slobbering dog that everyone underestimates!

Odie's Revenge

We contacted Paws, Inc. that owns the rights to the GarField character in October of 2006 and much to our surprise, they were very amenable to having us use Odie dog as our corporate mascot. In November of 2006 we formalized our Licensing Agreement and that same day, we posted the Odie dog on our website.

Our first real marketing exposure came early the next year at the TVB show in New York where we gave out cute little Odie stuffed animals with OneDomain collars to all the attendees. It was a huge success!

We thank our friends and Paws, Inc for letting us indulge the child within and having the Odie dog as our mascot!

Fun Facts About Odie

The original Garfield comic strip came out on June 19, 1978:

Odie, however, didn't appear in the strip until a few months later on August 8, 1978 (his unofficial birthday):

It's amazing to see how much the characters have changed over the years!

While Garfield has always been front and center, Odie finally got the lime light in 2005 when Odie Unleashed hit the shelves:

If you've got kids, we recommend going out and getting them Odie Unleashed. It's a hoot!

Odie has appeared in a number of Christmas and Thanksgiving day parades. Great OneDomain advertising!
